This is an old revision of the document!
1. Click Admin > Global Settings > Manage Translations
2. The Manage Translation Page contains the following:
3. To create a new Translation, type the New Translation name into the “Create Translation” Field. Click “Create Translation”.
4. Click on the dropdown in the “Translation” field and you should see this new Translation appear. Select it.
5. Now you are ready to begin translating the values in CarbonView into your desired language. All text within CarbonView is organised into “Translation Groups”. For example, if you select “Unit of Measure” from the “Translation Group” dropdown, the full list of all units of measure will display ready for you to input the translated value. Simply work through the relevant Translation Groups to add all translated values.
1. Now that you have created a new Translation, it needs to be assigned to the Users that requires it.
2. Assigning Translations to Users is done in the Manage Users section.
3. Go to Admin > Users > Manage Users.
4. Click the “Edit” button next to the User you want to assign the Translation to.
5. In the “Update User” form, select the desired translation from the “Translation” field. Click “Save”.
6. The User will now see CarbonView using this Translation.
1. CarbonView has 15 Flexible Fields available to add to the Manage Data form for organisations to capture additional data as needed. For example, if an organisation captures the distance traveled by all fleet and they want to also capture the vehicle driver's name, they can customise/translate one of the Flexible Fields to become “Driver Name”.
2. Flexible Fields are available in the Translation Group “Manage Emission Data Page”.
3. As all users are setup as default with the Translation “en_default”, by updating the “en_default” Translation, all users should then see the new fields.
Therefore, to customise a flexible field, do as follows:
All flexible fields are available for entering data against in both:
1. Select “Manage Emission Data” from the “Emission Data” menu
2. Select the Entity & Emission Source you want to add data to.
3. In the “Create Emission” form, you will see that the new Flex Field/s that you customised now appear at the bottom of the form. You can now add data and click “Save”. Important Note:
1. In order to be able to upload data to the Flex Fields using a CSV spreadsheet (i.e. Data Template), an Admin User firstly needs to add these fields to the Data Template for the organisation.
2. To add these, go to Admin > Global Settings > Manage Data Template
3. Search for “flex” in the Data Elements table to bring up the list of all Flex Fields.
4. Tick the “Include” box next to the flex fields you wish to include in the data template. Note that in this table, the translated values don't show so you will need to know which flex fields you used.
5. Once you've ticked on your flex fields, click on the “Customise Template” button to check that you're happy with the way the data template looks. If you need to re-order the columns, simply move each data element up/down to reposition.
6. Click “Generate CSV Template” button to download updated Data Template for use in uploading your data. Note:
