Assign Users to Assets
Overview
- Both the “Assign Users to Sources” and “Assign Users to Assets” section deals specifically with enabling Structured Users to access specific entities, emission sources and assets for entering data against.
- Structured Users will not be able to enter any data into CarbonView unless they have been assigned to entities (and/or assets) and emission sources.
- Admin users create and manage this assignment.
Steps to Assign a User to an Asset
1. Admin users navigate to Admin menu > Users > Assign Users to Assets
2. Select an Entity. Can only select one at a time.
3. Select an Asset. Can only select one at a time.Note, only Assets that have been assigned to this Entity will appear in this section. To assign an Asset to an Entity, go to the Manage Entity section.
4. Select an Emission Profile Source. Note, only Emission Profile Sources that this Asset has been assigned to will appear in this section. To assign an Asset to an Emission Profile Source, go to the Manage Emission Profile Source section.
5. Select a User from the “Available Users” list and move to the “Assigned Users” list by clicking on it. This user will now have the ability to enter data for this entity/asset/emission profile source combination. Note this list of users will only include Structured Users.
