 ===== Assigning Assets to Entities =====
+In CarbonView, Assets are things like motor vehicles, printers, electricity meters, etc which are not necessarily entities or physical buildings but lower level items which you might want to track emissions for.
+Assets are set up by Admin Users in the Manage Assets section, but can be assigned to Entities for granular data capture.
+To assign an asset,
+. Click on the "Assign Assets" tab.
+. Assets already assigned to the Entity will appear under the "Assigned Assets" heading. All other available assets to be assigned will appear under the "Available Assets" heading.
+. Use the Search bar or header sorting options to find the assets you want to assign and click "Add". Once it appears in the "Assigned Assets" table, it has been saved.
+To remove an asset, simply click "Remove".
+Note: If the asset is not in the "Available Assets" table, you will need to add it to the Assets Register in Manage Assets.
 ===== Assigning Business Measures to Entities =====
+What are Business Measures?
+Business measures are things like building area, number of employees, production output.. things that will alow you to normalize your consumption and emission data and compare emissions intensity across different parts of the business.
+Adding a new Business Measure:
+. Click on the Business Measures tab
+. Any existing Business Measures will display in the table. You can choose to Edit or Delete these.
+. To add a new Business Measure, start a new row and select the relevant one from the dropdown. If you wish to add your own Business Measure to the standard list available, you can set this up in Manage Business Measures section.
+. Select a Start Date. This is the date from which your business measure will apply. For example, if your entity facilities have recently been extended, you would need to add a new row for the new floor area and input the Start Date of this extension. This row (i.e. new floor area) will continue to be applied for all future data entered against this entity until a new row and start date is added.
+. Enter a "Data" value. This is the numerical value of the business measure you selected. E.g. 1000 Sq ft of Building Area. Simply enter "1000".
+. Click "Add" and you'll note this row is now added.
+Notes:
+A. Multiple Business Measures can be added for an Entity.
+B. Start Dates are important because it advises the system when to apply each of the business measures to the entity's data. For example, if 2 rows have been added for Building Area, 1 with Start Date 1/1/2011 and the other with Start Date 1/1/2014, then the system will apply the first building area to all data entered between 1/1/2011 and 31/12/2013 and the second building area to all data entered after 1/1/2014.
 ===== Adding Targets to Entities =====
+Targets
+The system allows Admin users to set emission targets for entities. Users have the ability to specify different types of targets, either Absolute Reduction targets or Intensity Reduction targets . This will help them monitor their performance in relation to the target specified. The users will have the ability to take corrective action early to enable their business to achieve emission goals.
+Adding Targets to Entities:
+. Click on the "Target Emission" tab
+. Existing Targets for this entity will appear in the table. You can choose to Edit or Delete these.
+. To add an new Target, click on a new row and complete fields as follows:
+.1 Start Date: This date denotes the last day of the baseline year you wish to use. For example, if the target reduction is to reduce 20% by 30/06/2015 based on 2010 financial year, the Start Date would be 30/06/2010 (i.e. the last day of the baseline year you wish to use).
+.2 End Date: This date denotes the day you wish to achieve your target by. In the above example, this would be 30/06/2015.
+.3 Type: Users can choose to label their targets as Planned or Forecast. This is completely at the user's discretion but will allow them to set two types of targets (i.e. an internal target vs an externally committed target). Typically internal targets are called Forecasts, externally committed targets are labeled ad Planned.
+.4 Target Emission (tonnes CO2-e): This is the field to enter your Absolute Target in. Note if you choose to set an Absolute Target, you cannot complete the adjacent field Target Emission Reduction (%). Each row can only refer to either an Absolute Target (tonnes) or Intensity Target(%). To create an Absolute Target, enter to total tonnes of CO2-e that you wish by the end date. e.g. 1000 t CO2-e.
+.5 Target Emission Reduction (%): This is the field to enter your Intensity Target in. Note if you choose to set an Absolute Target, you cannot complete the adjacent field Target Emission (tonnes CO2-e). Each row can only refer to either an Absolute Target (tonnes) or Intensity Target(%). To create an Intensity Target, enter to % reduction you wish by the end date. e.g. 20 if you wish to save 20%.
+.6 Target Scope: This is the value that the target is to be applied to. Select either "Emissions" for total Carbon Emissions (t CO2-e) or the Business Measure you wish to use for Intensity Targets.
+.7 Click "Add"
+Notes
+A. You can add multiple targets for an entity.
+B. If you add a target at a Parent Entity level, it will cascade down to all sub-entities.
 ===== Manage Data Control =====
+CarbonView allows you to lock down data for an entity for a period defined by you.
+This means that no changes can be made to any data for this entity (or it's sub-entities) for the data period you specify. This is particularly useful after you have finalised a year's data and want to ensure no changes are made.
+To lock down data:
+. Click on the "Data Control" tab
+. Enter the Start Date of the period.
+. Enter the End Date of the period.
+. Click Add.
+Notes.
+A. A date period specified for a Parent Entity will apply to all of it's sub-entities. For example, you can lock down data at the top parent and it will lock data for the whole organisation.
+B. You can edit/delete these as you need to.
